RITZ-Carlton Hong Kong, a luxury hotel at the same time become the world’s tallest hotel, held the opening ceremony on Tuesday (03/05/2011).
Hotel with 312 rooms are occupied floors 102 to 118 building the International Commerce Center (ICC). ICC is a 490-meter-high building that was developed by Sun Hung Kai, the largest property developers in Hong Kong. This hotel is a branch of the Ritz-Carlton luxury hotel’s 75th globally and 16th in Asia.
The opening of the hotel which is located in Kowloon marks the return of The Ritz-Carlton in Hong Kong after it closed its branches in the group in February 2008.
By returning the presence of the Ritz-Carlton, guests and visitors can have a bird’s-eye view of the stunning city, said John Tsang, financial secretary of the municipality, as quoted by Xinhua.
Room prices starting from 6,000 Hong Kong dollars (about Rp6, 6 million) per night for deluxe suites, while the presidential suite at a cost of about 100,000 HK dollars per night or about Rp110 million.
Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company is now running seven hotel in mainland China, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Sanya.
The ICC, a skyscraper with 118 floors is located in West Kowloon. Construction completed in 2010. As the fourth tallest building in the world, the ICC contains the observation deck on the 100th floor of the Sky 100 is opened to the public in April this year.
